Dina Idriss-Wheeler, PhD candidate in Population Health at the University of Ottawa and Associate Director at the Centre for Health Law, Policy, and Ethics, explores intimate partner violence and support services access during COVID-19 lockdowns in Ontario. She is committed to addressing disparities in healthcare access as well as health and social outcomes, both in Canada and globally. Using a social justice and human rights perspective, she is exploring the social, political, and economic factors affecting access to health services by marginalized populations. With a rich background including roles at McMaster University and the Canadian Red Cross, she focuses on health services research and global health education. Dina also consults for the UNODC and teaches in the PhD in Population Health program at the University of Ottawa.
