Equity, Diversity, Inclusivity, & Accessibility (EDIA) Cross-Theme Supports for Team Primary Care

About the Adaptive Mentorship Network Working Group

We are building an innovative national mentoring network to advance equity, diversity, inclusivity, & accessibility (EDIA). Our network will connect TPC Project partners with mentors across the country who have content knowledge in EDIA and who are skilled in teaching and problem solving, and project development. Our mentors are from a variety of disciplines (family medicine, public health, nursing, social work, etc.).

Mentees have the opportunity to be a part of one-on-one and small group mentoring environments, and be a part of a larger online network where you can further discuss your TPC work and pose EDIA questions. Following the principles of adaptive mentorship, we aim to remain adaptable to our mentees needs and mentor’s experiences as we support meetings and curate resources for those in the network by surveying their self-identified desired program outcomes.

Members of our network are united by their interest in (1) advancing EDIA and social justice in health care environments across the country, (2) developing longitudinal relationships with colleagues and (3) developing facilitation, self-reflection, self-compassion, and leadership skills in different mentoring environments.

We acknowledge that the EqHS Lab is located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishnaabeg. We have the privilege and responsibility to serve First Nations, Métis and Inuit of many backgrounds and from many treaty lands and to demonstrate respect for Indigenous people’s contributions and culture. We also acknowledge traditional knowledge and healing developed over countless generations.
